The national fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order in the United States met outside Albuquerque, New Mexico, on October 20-25, 2009. Nancy Menning represented OEF at the gathering. At this elective chapter, Deacon Tom Bello of St. Thomas More Fraternity in Arlington, Virginia, was elected as the new national minister of the Secular Franciscan Order in the U.S.
